Dinner and a movie...

Tonight I am headed out with some girlfriends to see the movie, My Sister's Keeper. We all read the book and I am looking forward to discussing it during dinner and then heading over to the theater.
By what I hear...I better not forget to bring the tissues! Have you seen it or read the book? What did you think?

Random snaps of our everyday life...

The boys just hanging with friends out front...

Chase and Troy fishing in the Boise river...

Tanner thought his dad needed a bedtime story...

Tanner the morning of Cub Scout day camp. It was a Mission to Mars theme. He had a blast! pun intended ;)

The boys playing around with Roxy...

Chase still is fascinated with all things military...

Backyard flower pots...

Stylin' shades...

Chases "dream" truck...says he wants to paint it orange. We both saw this in Idaho City and agreed it had a certain "charm"!

Blowing bubbles in their milk...don't you just want to do this sometimes too??? I do!

Making cinnamon sugar monkey bread...

Tanner and Charlie snuggled up together playing on the computer...

Sunday...time spent together

Sunday started off with church in the morning. We LOVE our church and enjoyed another awesome sermon from Paul! We hung around another hour or so chatting with friends and then decided since it was such a beautiful day that we would do a little fishing. So off to the river we went. The boys with their poles and me with a good book. Looked like we were in for a perfect afternoon!

The boys climed the trees looking for the perfect spot...

Well...fishing was originally a good idea...but it was just TOO hot. So we came up with a better idea!

Off to the lake! It was around 5:30pm and since it stays light till after 10pm and the lake is only minutes away...we figured it was a great way to cool off!!!

Another reason why we love Idaho!

Cherry Picking

After the cherry festival we headed up to one of the many "pick your own" orchards in Emmett. We had so much fun and it seemed that in only a matter of minutes we had picked 10 pounds of cherries!

The view is gorgeous from the foothills that the orchards are planted on.

As we were heading back home we passed another cherry orchard that had some jam and chocolate covered cherries for sale. We just had to stop!

We've been eating cherries like crazy. I covered some with chocolate for my Bunco group and today I made some jam. My hands will be stained for a week from pitting all those cherries! And... we still have a HUGE bowl full! So later this week I think I will make a couple of pies.

Cherry Festival

We went to the Cherry Festival in Emmett last Saturday and had a terrific time. It is a small town and it was fun to celebrate the cherry season with them. We of course came home with a cherry pie made by some cute lil old church ladies from town. It was delicious!
I still can't believe I let the boys go on a carnival ride! I put my "mom fears" aside for a bit and they had a blast!

Making their own slushes...
And what is a fair without eating some "fair food"?!? We started out with some very yummy corn dogs and finished up with fried cinnamon rolls and sweet tea. YUM!
