Do you have your fall wreath up yet???

How do you decorate your front door for the season?
A wreath?

Or something a little more creative?

What I Love About October

Homemade Sauce

Troy's employee has a wonderful garden at his home and blessed us with a bunch of tomatoes...but they needed to be used quick! What's a girl to do but make a big pot of sauce!!! So come on in and keep me company while I get to work....

Have a seat and a cool drink....

Here are the tomatoes...

and some cantalope (but we won't be using those today)

Boil 'em down and peel off the skin

Chop them up and remove the seeds

Saute' the onions and garlic with olive oil, salt, pepper and some italian seasonings (I also added some tomato paste and a little red wine to thicken things up...didn't get a photo of that step)

Heat it up till it's all bubbly

Cook for a couple of hours
Add a little sausage at the end...cook on medium low for another hour. Yumm-O!!!!

Football, Gardens and the Market

What a beautiful Saturday we had! It was a relaxing, easy going day, that brought us to some unexpected places....

First, we went to cheer on Tanner's football team. Go Cowboys! Tanner had some awesome plays!

Then we headed over to the Idaho Botanical Gardens to check out their scarecrows and fall flowers and hike around a bit on the trails.

On our way home we took the scenic route and went through some of the old neighborhoods in downtown Boise. We happened by this old time market. So, we went inside to get a treat. It was the cutest place! The locals would come in and put their purchases on their tabs that the lady behind the register would pull out of a little index box. I didn't know store's even did that anymore!!! There were potatoes, onions and zucchini from someones garden sitting on the tables for anyone to take home and enjoy. So we brought some home and fryed them up for dinner. I can't wait to bring my mom and dad back to this place when they come to visit!
