Basketball game / Pinewood Derby

Chase's basketball team won! What a great way to end the season....go Sabercats! The Pinewood Derby was a blast! All the boys had a great time

We had to make a few changes with the weights, hence the tape. But it was all good! Afterwards we enjoyed some yummy cake...

And then the awards were presented. Tanner's car won "Best Paint Job"

Deals at Albies

I made a quick run to Albertson's last night to pick up the 10lb bag of potaotes on sale for $1.88 and this is what I came home with!Kraft and Post are having some great deals this week. For every $10 worth of product spent you get $4 off instantly! And the Coke products had a deal for every 3 purchased get $1 off.

2 Wheat Thins
2 Chex Mix
2 Chips Ahoy
1 Ritz Crackers
1 2 liter Coke
1 2 liter Diet Coke
1 2 liter Sprite
2 bags of Green Giant broccoli
2 bags of Green Giant green beans
2 Digiorno pizzas
1 Digiorno flatbread (found a $1 coupon on the freezer case in the Blinkie dispenser)
1 California Pizza Kitchen Flatbread melt (found a $1 coupon for these too)
10lb bag russet potatoes

So with going into the store with no coupons I saved $38.43!!! Pretty good deal, don't ya think!

What we've been up to...

I don't have any updates on the veggie garden yet. Even though it was around 80 degrees the last couple of days, I still haven't done any planting. We are waiting till the threat of any end of season frost has passed...this is Idaho after all!
Chase's last basketball game is this afternoon. Go Sawtooth Middle School! A few of his teammates
His biggest fans...
Go Sabercats!
Great Grandma Louise was able to catch two games while she was here visiting
Tanner's Pinewood Derby is tonight as well. Wish him luck...he is so excited.
Here are some photos of the work done on his car last weekend.
Hanging out with some buddies...

These kids are closer in age than it may appear.
Can you guess which kids have the tall parents?!?!

Cleaning Gracie's hamster cageTanner 'babysat' Gracie while Chase cleaned...just trying to be a good "uncle"

And I got to play a little Bunco with my Dice Girls last Saturday night...

Earth Week

This is Earth Week. So we decided to be a little greener and to plant a vegetable garden in our yard. So, off to Lowe's we went.

Stringing off the measured area.... Removing the sod...

Leveling the dirt...
Sawing the redwood boards. We bought three 6x8' boards and cut one in half to build a 4x8' raised garden area.

Screwing the sides together...
Placing the stakes 3 -4' apart for support...

And finally...filling with dirt. We still need another 6 - 8 bags of topsoil and to purchase our veggie plants. But, I am so excited that we got the planter built. I will keep you posted on our gardens progress.
Happy Earth Week!
What are your plans to live a little "greener"?

We hope you all had a beautiful Easter Sunday!
