Tanner has an upcoming project in his class on communites. His class was assigned to do Boise and Tanner chose to do a post office. Instead of doing your typical Post Office, Tanner chose to do a Post Office in the old part of Boise, called Hyde Park. It is a quaint little section in the North End of Boise. So, we drove up and down the street looking for the post office but couldn't find it!
So we called his teacher, who happens to live in this area, and she told us where to look...
It was inside the Hyde Park Book Store! The lady who has owned it for 25 years was so sweet. She gave Tanner a little lesson on the history of the building and also an old photo from 1910 when it used to be a milk depot that sold the locals their butter, cream, milk and ice cream. The photo is so neat with all the old horse drawn buggies and men dressed in coats and hats standing out front!

Speaking of ice cream....
we went to Goody's and got ourselves some! Yummy! And it just so happens to be right across the street from the Bookstore / Post Office. How could we resist!
On the way back to our car we passed some great old houses (and trucks)....
Just had to take a photo!
