CFF Walk
Team Chan-Man
~Idaho Division ~
Rocks!!!
Our dear friend, Chandler Hudson, has Cystic Fibrosis. We did this walk for him! I did the Great Strides walk with his family each year in California. Now that I live in Idaho, I decided to put together a team here. These awesome women were all on my team this year. I am so blessed to have them as friends! Many others couldn't walk with us today, but they were so generous with their donations. I couldn't have done it with out you all!!! It was a beautiful day to walk along the Boise River Greenbelt Thank you all for supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!!! http://www.cff.org/
We Love Ya Chan-Man!

Rich Christensen's Armdrop Live
So, as many of you know, my husband is a drag race enthusiast! He LIVES to race! It's in his blood. Some of you may even have husbands that enjoy watching Rich Christensen's shows Pinks and Pinks All-Out. Well...he is in town folks! And guess where Troy is this Memorial Day weekend? He is racing at Firebird Raceway in the Armdrop Live. Please wish him luck if you see him and pray for his safety.
Firebird Raceway was selected to host one of the most exciting and dramatic events to come down the pike in recent memory. Rich Christensen's ArmDrop Live is here at Firebird Raceway. Essentially it takes us back to the roots of drag racing, delivering a heads-up format that Rich will personally orchestrate from his famouse starting line perch made famous on the Pinks and Pinks All-Out.
Troy drove his friend Mike's car this weekend. He had a blast!
2009 Pasadena Showcase House of Design
Each year I enjoy this home tour with my mom and my life long girlfriends, Caprice and Karen. Occassionally we are happy to have another friend join us as well, and this year it was Caprice's friend Cindy. It is tradition that we go each May and I wouldn't miss it for the world!
This year they showcased a magnificent 1917 Italian Renaissance Revival estate designed by renowned Pasadena architect, G. Lawrence Stimson. The home has over 10,000 square feet of living space and rests on two graceful acres in the estate area of San Marino. We weren't allowed to take photos...but trust me, it was GORGEOUS! Probably one of my favorite tours ever,

It's been a while...
So sorry that I haven't been keeping you up to date with what we've been up to. May has been full of fun days and celebrations. School projects, scouts, Mother's day and Troy's birthday and then a trip to California has kept us busy. Only another week and a half left of school till summer vacation...whoo hoo!!! We are more than ready!

Stamp Out Hunger
Saturday, May 9 is the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Just put your non-perishable donation in a bag by your mailbox and they will deliver it to a local food bank near you.
This week there is a promotion at Albertson's. For every $10 you spend on participating products (check your ad) you will save $3 instantly! So here is the deal I got...with NO coupons!
I bought 4 Honey Bunches of Oats at 4 for $10. I got $3 off instantly = $7. Then I got a catalina (a printed out coupon from the machine near the register) for another $3 off my next order. That means I got 4 boxes of cereal for $4!!! I took the catalina and did it again with another 4 boxes!
So, you see...there is no excuse not to join in on the STAMP OUT HUNGER food drive! Albertson's has made it easy for us to help out those less fortunate.
What are you planning on putting into your donation bag?

Hyde Park
Tanner has an upcoming project in his class on communites. His class was assigned to do Boise and Tanner chose to do a post office. Instead of doing your typical Post Office, Tanner chose to do a Post Office in the old part of Boise, called Hyde Park. It is a quaint little section in the North End of Boise. So, we drove up and down the street looking for the post office but couldn't find it!So we called his teacher, who happens to live in this area, and she told us where to look...
It was inside the Hyde Park Book Store! The lady who has owned it for 25 years was so sweet. She gave Tanner a little lesson on the history of the building and also an old photo from 1910 when it used to be a milk depot that sold the locals their butter, cream, milk and ice cream. The photo is so neat with all the old horse drawn buggies and men dressed in coats and hats standing out front!

~Tanner and Mrs. Barnes~Speaking of ice cream....
we went to Goody's and got ourselves some! Yummy! And it just so happens to be right across the street from the Bookstore / Post Office. How could we resist! On the way back to our car we passed some great old houses (and trucks)....
