Crazy Love

The author of this book, Francis Chan, is from my hometown of Simi Valley, CA. His message is awesome and I encourage each of you to check out his website and book. My Life Group is reading this book right now and it's been hard to stick to just one chapter a week! I can't wait to get back down to So. Cal. for a visit so I can sit in on one of his sermons at the Cornerstone Church.

LEGO'S

Legos, Legos everywhere!!!
Tanner loves him some Legos!
Even with donating a HUGE container full to a family at church, he still has a ton

He is very creative with what he builds...this is just the start of a huge "village".
With his 9th birthday coming up...what do you guess he is asking for???
More Legos of course!!!

Tanner earns his Wolf

Tanner earned his Wolf patch, two yellow beads, 1 gold arrow and 2 silver arrows at the Pack Meeting this month....we are so proud!

Here he is pinning on my Mom's Wolf pin...

Whew...a busy day!

Ok, so I've been quite the busy bee today...

1. Finished the book, Eclipse and read the newspaper
2. Finished three loads of laundry
3. Returned book and a video to the library.
4. Went to my p.t. job at the middle school
5. Replaced the toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom...I have boys!
6. Unclogged the downstairs powder room toilet...yuk!
7. Scrubbed two bathrooms and cleaned the fish tank.
8. Unloaded the dishwasher.
9. Stripped and made beds.
10. Paid the bills

And it's only 3pm...still need to
~help with homework
~prepare dinner ~ macaroni bake with salad and cornbread
~trim Tanner's hair - picture day tomorrow!
~iron shirt for Tanner
~Clean up kitchen after dinner
~hang out with the family after dinner and read with the boys at bedtime (my favorite part)
~read - The Friday Night Knitting Club, bookclub is this week and I'm only 1/2 way finished! Also need to read chapter one of, Crazy Love, for our Bible study this Thursday
~kiss hubby and lights out somewhere around midnight!

I feel so blessed to be a stay at home mom. People often wonder what we do all day, and sometimes it is hard to answer that question. Today was productive, but by no means my busiest day of the week. Many nights we are out the door for school events, sports or bible studies.

MLK Day

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

Beautiful Fog

Slow down ~ Take a Walk ~ See the Beauty Through the "Fog"

While taking my morning walk I saw the barn across from our subdivision through the fog...

To me...this is God's way of teaching us to stop and look through the "fog" to see the beauty. Some things and people in our lives are like that. We need to get past the exterior to see the beauty. Don't rush through life...pay attention to the ordinary. Slow down today and take a good look at the beauty He has brought to your life.

Go Steelheads!

The guys all enjoyed a hockey game together....

Chase and Jake enjoyed yelling at the goalie, (Molie) to get back into his holey!!!

Fun with Oma and Poppa

We are missing my mom and dad so much...we had a lovely two weeks with them! We all created lots of new memories and kept up with our traditions. It really is the simple things that made our time together so memorable...

Oma and the boys baked....a lot! Tanner learned to knit!
New Year's fun...
A game of tetherball (in his jammies!) and cuddles with Poppa

Hanging out and watching a movie!
Playing in the snow...Oma got Chase good with this snowball!
Poppa made breakfast every morning...
We played games...lots and lots of games! Here they're playing Connect Four. We played dominoes quite a bit too.

Oma sewed each of us our own apron and in the pocket was one of our favorite recipes of hers
Each year we open matching jammies on Christmas evePlaying tetherball in the backyard

We have had many performances by Chase this past weekChristmas morning breakfast is always the traditional egg dish, potato caserole and my Grandma's almond coffee cake
